Choosing where to live or buy

Careful consideration is always required when deciding where to live or where to purchase commercial property.
When it comes to deciding where to live, any decision made will affect the whole family's lifestyle. If you are already residing in Mauritius you may need to consider how easy it will be to commute to work or to local schools, proximity to recreational facilities, supermarkets and hospitals, even the climate will vary from north to south. If you are moving from abroad then even more needs to be considered including visas, length of flights from your county of origin, whether your property will be your permanent residence or a holiday home. It is important to write down a list of must-haves for your new property and then do plenty of research.
Equal thought needs to be applied to the purchase of commercial property, it is important to consider the size of the premises required, ease of access (possibly by road, air and sea depending on your requirements for import and export), general infrastructure, surrounding commerce and competition, local workforce availability and the location of your customers, as many of your initial requirements as possible will need to be met in order for your business to be successful.
